The Florida State Seminoles (1) survived last week without Jameis Winston and will now try to get some confidence back against the N.C. State Wolfpack with their Heisman Trophy quarterback on the field.

Last weekend was Florida State's first ACC matchup, against a 22nd-ranked Clemson, which they won in overtime under Sean Maguire with Winston serving a one-game suspension. Coming in undefeated and playing at home, N.C. State is playing their first ACC game and are certainly eyeing a massive upset.

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher believes his squad will rebound Saturday after not quite looking like the defending National Champions against Clemson.

"The mental resolve of this football team, that's why I love them," he told reporters, according to ESPN. "They understand how to rally together, they understand how to pull together, and they understand how much they care for each other. I think they mentally got themselves back together."

It may be strange to think that the number one team in the nation will have to rebound after a win, but Florida State is not quite as dominant as they were last season. Oklahoma State played a close game in the season opener, making the Citadel the only team the Seminoles won comfortably.

The last time Florida State lost to an ACC opponent was in 2012 when played N.C. State on the road. Against the Seminoles, the Wolfpack are 5-2 at home and this year are looking to go 5-0, their best start since 2002, when Philip Rivers was playing quarterback.

Coach Dave Doeren acknowledged the way his team plays at home, which will have been the setting now for four of their first five games after Saturday.

"It has no bearing to what happens in this game," he said. "It just shows that Carter-Finley is a great stadium. It's a hard place to win."
