Last season, Kenny Hill was Johnny Manziel's backup at quarterback and in his first year taking over the Aggies offense, he has effectively put his predecessor behind him.

Hill still has 11 games to go, but his performance against South Carolina Saturday was a as much a statement as he could possibly make. In a 52-28 road win against a higher-ranked team, Hill broke Manziel's single game records for completions, attempts, pass yards, passing first downs and completions of at least 15 yards.

According to the Associated Press, Hill is even trying to distinguish himself from Manziel by way of a nickname. Many have tried to dub Hill "Kenny Football" as a tip-of-the-cap to Manziel.

"I heard there's Kenny Trill, Kenny Thrill, King of the Hill, Kenny Football, Kenny Chill, Kenny Touchdown," Hill said after the game, according to the AP. "I mean there's too many of them.

"I like that one," he said of Kenny Trill. " That one's cool."

So what does "Trill" mean? Urban Dictionary says it is a combination of the words "true" and "real," but it is the title of a song by rapper Bun B. The emcee may not be ready to let Hill use his song title for a nickname just yet, but he indicated the Aggies' passer could earn it.

"I know about Bun B and I know coach Sumlin has got a little relationship with Bun B," Hill said. "So hopefully he'll let me be Kenny Trill."

Texas A&M head football coach Kevin Sumlin is also trying to right the slip-ups Manziel experienced. He said reports of a ban on taking photos were false, but that he told his players "to pass the blame, blame it on me... [something] Johnny didn't do that a lot last year."

Hill should not have too much of a problem with that, however. CBS Detroit reported that Hill politely declines photo requests, has not replaced his broken cell phone and does not even own a television.

After jumping from 21st to ninth in the AP's college football rankings, Texas A&M will take on Lamar Saturday, but their schedule only gets tougher. Five of their last six games are against currently ranked teams, they are Ole Miss (15), Alabama (2), Auburn (5), Missouri (24) and LSU (12). Both the Alabama and Auburn games are on the road.
