American Career College has launched a new Radiography program in Ontario.

The for-profit vocational college's new radiography program will allow students to earn an Associate Degree in Occupational Science and provide clinical preparation for each student to have a successful result on the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification and registration exam.

"We are thrilled to now be offering the radiography program at ACC Ontario," Scott Wardall, ACC Ontario executive director, said in a statement. "At American Career College, we know the importance of education and how it's key to a successful career."

Wardall added that the health care industry is in constant need of well-trained professionals, including radiologic technologists.

From X-rays to more advanced diagnostic tests such as computed tomography, physicians and surgeons rely on accurate medical imaging to treat diseases and injuries; hospitals and medical clinics, in turn, rely on radiologic technologists to operate and maintain the sophisticated equipment that provide these vital tests.

As employment in the health care sector continues to expand, so will the demand for radiologic technologists; in fact, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of radiologic and MRI technologists is projected to grow 21 percent nationally from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.

American Career College, which was founded more than 35 years ago, has grown to meet the demand for highly skilled health care employees across a broad spectrum of disciplines. It offers a total of 14 unique health care training programs at five locations in California. It also offers a no-cost GED Preparation Program designed to help members of the communities served by the school achieve their goals in life.
