The Netherlands and Costa Rica will meet at the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup Saturday.

The Central American country managed to top a group containing Italy, England, and Uruguay with their remarkable defensive discipline and quick, incisive counter-attacking. Costa Rica's national football team also beat Greece to reach the World Cup finals for the first time in its history, SB Nation reported.

However, Costa Rica's days of "sneaking up on opponents" may soon come to an end, as it is scheduled to face one of the most impressive teams in this soccer tournament, according to CBS Sports.

The Netherlands know plenty about Costa Rica to understand that the Central American team is one of the surprise packages of the tournament that should not be taken lightly.

"These games don't come easier. There are no easy games," Netherlands defender Ron Vlaar said earlier this week, according to CBS Sports. "Costa Rica beat Uruguay and Italy and then drew against England. Then they beat Greece. It will be another hard game again, but we are really looking forward to it. It's a great challenge again."

Although the Dutch team is favored to win, Costa Rica has proved to be anything but a doormat. The Central American team set the tone during the group stage with a decisive 3-1 victory over Uruguay in its opening match, and followed that with a 1-0 win over Italy.

Costa Rica was expected to be walked over in Group D.

The match will take place at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil.

According to Fifa.com, the Netherlands-Costa Rica match will be the sixth game of the World Cup tournament hosted at the arena.

According to Weather.com, temperature will reach the high 70s and the teams will likely play during a downpour.
