With the Round of 16 half over, France and Nigeria face off to take one more step toward the 2014 World Cup final.

France won Group E after beating Honduras and Switzerland and finishing with Ecuador in a draw, accumulating seven points and an impressive goal differential of +6. Despite only registering four points and an even goal differential, Nigeria finished second in Group F behind Argentina.

According to FIFA.com, Estadio Nacional, an arena built in 2012 that seats 69,349 people, will host the match. The city of Brasilia is expected to sizzle Monday with temperatures nearing 100 degrees Fahrenheit and clear skies above, according to Weather.com.

By winning their first two matches, France guaranteed itself a trip to the Round of 16 and the victories over Honduras and Switzerland have made the French look strong. Six different players have combined to score France's eight total goals from the group stage, giving them a balanced offensive attack.

Nigeria has only managed to score three goals, but only allowed their opponents to score in one game, their last match of the group stage when they played Argentina. In that match, Lionel Messi scored twice and led the Argentinians to Group F's top spot with three wins.

The winner between France and Nigeria will have to wait until later in the day Monday to learn their opponent in the quarterfinals. Algeria and Germany kick off at 4 p.m. ET.

France may be a more seasoned national team than Nigeria, but this World Cup has had more than its share of surprises. Out of the four Round of 16 matches, two went to a penalty shootout, including Brazil's win over Chile in which the host nation barely escaped with a victory.
