According to CBS Sports, this match will likely not mean anything for Honduras, as the team would have to not only defeat Switzerland while hoping France beats Ecuador, but it would have to win by at least five goals to advance.
"Considering Honduras has only managed one goal in its first two matches, I'm just going to go ahead and say the Hondurans aren't scoring five goals against Switzerland Wednesday," CBS Sports predicted.
Switzerland is in a somewhat similar position as Honduras, but the team's chances of moving on are much greater.
The Swiss team would be taking nothing for granted when they face the Central Americans, Midfielder Blerim Dzemaili is quoted as saying by The Telegraph.
"Everyone can nurture big dreams, but first we have to do a little homework and that is to beat Honduras," said the 28-year-old. "We have seen that the big teams just relying on individuals are quickly eliminated, which little Switzerland can't afford. We have to give our all together, like we did against France, but we also had some bad luck after they scored their early goals."
The Swiss is expected to pick up a win that will almost certainly guide them through into the knockout stages.
The match will take place in Manaus.
