Germany and Ghana will face off Saturday in a World Cup Group G clash that will determine which teams will make the cut for the knockout stages.

Germany stomped Portugal 4-0 in their opener on Monday, and they look "all-but certain to lock up Group G. But Ghana is no walkover." Despite Ghana's lost to the United States, they had 59 percent possession against their opponents. Ghana's failure to "capitalize on many chances" led to their defeat, CBC reported.

The match will take place in the main football stadium in the city of Fortaleza.

There isn't much history between the two sides. Germany and Ghana have only played each other twice - in a 1993 friendly and at the 2010 World Cup. Germany won both matches 7-1 on aggregate, the Daily Mail reported.

But Ghana comes into this game knowing that anything less in the win may result in their elimination.

In many people's eyes Germany is Europe's main hope of bring the World Cup back following "Spain being unceremoniously dumped out of the competition earlier this week," this pressure may push Germany to become a more than formidable opponent.

Germany has only lost one of their last 19 games in the group stages of the World Cup; it was against Serbia on 18 June 2010 (0-1), winning 14 and drawing four. Their only defeat against an African side at the World Cup was against Algeria on 16 June 1982 (1-2), winning four and drawing one.

According to Weather.com, the temperature will reach the 60s in the city of Fortaleza and will be sunny.

Sandro Ricci will be the head referee. Two fellow Brazilians and a Peruvian will serve as his three assistants.
