According to FIFA.com, Estadio Mineirao, an arena in the city of Belo Horizonte built in 1965 and that seats 58,170 people, will host the match. About 272 miles north of Rio de Janeiro and far inland, Belo Horizonte will get clear skies and hot weather. According to Weather.com, the Argentinians and Iranians will have to endure heat in the mid-90s for their match.
Argentina benefitted early from a Bosnian own goal, but later added another score thanks to Messi. Bosnia later applied some pressure with a goal in the 85th minute, but Argentina was able to hold them off for the win.
Iran and Nigeria played somewhat of an uneventful match and neither team even took many shots, let alone the fact that none went in. Iran will have to play that tough defense again and always keep more than one set of eyes on Messi, as he can cut through a defense with the best.
Both countries may be accustomed to extreme heat, but either coach will still have to be wise about substitutions since the players are bound to tire easier.
Argentina has an extensive World Cup track record, entering the tournament 15 times an winning twice. However, they have had even better fortune in the Copa America, winning that title 14 times.
Iran has never made it out of the first round of the World Cup, but they have an opportunity this year.
