Honduras and Ecuador may be at the bottom of Group E, but the winner of the match Friday night can keep their hopes of reaching the next round alive.

France and Switzerland, the two teams atop Group E, are playing earlier in the day to determine who can secure a spot in the round of 16 before the end of the first round. Honduras ends its group stage schedule against Switzerland while Ecuador will face France.

Switzerland pulled off a win in their World Cup opener against Ecuador as Haris Seferovic broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 90th+ minute. Honduras fell 3-0 to France and committed an own goal.

According to FIFA.com, the Arena da Baixada, a stadium built in 1914 and that seats 39,631 people, in the city of Curitiba. The southern city will experience clear skies and temperatures possibly dipping into the 40s as the sun goes down, according to Weather.com.

Neither Honduras nor Ecuador have experienced much success in the World Cup, especially compared to one-time title winner France. Both Honduras and Ecuador have made three appearances in the World Cup each and only the latter has reached as far as the second round.

France appears to be the Group E favorite early on in this year's tournament, so Honduras may have a slightly better chance at making the round of 16 if they can beat Ecuador. Honduras will need to secure a win Friday then beat Switzerland to do so.

France has so far seemingly been immune to whatever is plaguing some of the top-ranked teams in the world. So far, England and Spain have been officially eliminated while Italy and Portugal are facing must-win situations to stay in.
