Full List of US Universities With the Most Olympic Athletes Competing in 2024 Paris Games
ByAs the 2024 Paris Olmypic games are underway, Americans at home are watching athletes compete at top levels representing more than just their nation- they're also representing thier alma maters.
Over 1200 former, current and incoming student athletes are competing in Paris this year, according to the NCAA. The majority of them, 385, are representing team USA, with Canada (132), Australia (44), Nigeria (38), Jamaica & Germany (34) rounding out the top 5.
After five days of competition, team USA NCAA althetes have walked away with five gold medals, including Katie Ledecky and Torri Huske (Stanford), Lee Kiefer (Notre Dame), and Sunisa Lee (Auburn).
While the list of sports NCAA student athletes are competing in is wide ranging, three sports take up the majority of athletes competing. Track and field/cross country has 406 athletes, swimming has 223, and basketball has 150, with the rest of the categories coming in at under 100 NCAA athletes competing.
Athletes from 251 NCAA schools and nearly 60 conferences are present in Paris, competing for the gold. The Big Ten Conference, which hosts schools like Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan, has the most athletes competing with 314.
Southern California University ranks as the NCAA school with the most athletes competing in this year's games, with 59. Stanford, Michigan, California, and Florida round out the top five. The top 10 list is below, and a full list can be found here.

According to the USOPC, Stanford is in the lead with the most medals won in the Paris games so far, garnering 10 medals, including 2 gold. The University of Virginia, University of Texas Austin, and Notre Dame follow behind with 5, 5, and 4 respectively.
