Samsung bowed out of this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. There is no doubt, however, that the Korean tech giant will come out with new handsets this year, assuredly later. One handset people are looking forward to is the coming Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

There is no doubt that branding the latest phablet in line with its disastrous predecessor is a big risk for Samsung. Some even suggesting scrapping the Note series from its roster after a very small fraction of its Galaxy Note 7 exploded. It seems Samsung braved it up and decided it will come out with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

Now that it has been finally revealed that the cause of the Note 7's explosions is the ill-fitted battery in its cramped casing, Samsung is taking extra precautions of sourcing its battery from a new supplier, Know Your Mobile reported. Reports say that Samsung contracted LG's subsidiary, LG Chem, to provide batteries for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Therefore, indeed, the Galaxy Note 8 is happening.

Samsung, despite the stigma the Note name bears due to the exploding Note 7, believes that loyal customers will flock back to the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh confirmed it has plans to unveil a new and improved Galaxy Note 8 later this year. Accordingly, the new phablet will be better, safer, and very innovative, c|net reported.

Koh added that the Note garnered a group of devoted users that he could not walk away from. His statement holds true since there are still literally thousands of Note 7 users on Verizon despite calls for their owners to turn their devices in.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is better, safer, and very innovative

True to the promise of making the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 one hell of a handset, it is speculated the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be outfitted with a 4K display to maximize the Note 8's VR capabilities. It is said that it will also have a processing power bump, a new dual-camera technology, and quite possibly, more RAM.

It will also have an updated S-pen stylus, and the most awaited feature would be Bixby. Bixby is Samsung's new AI technology after it took over Viv Labs, the creators of Siri. Bixby, however, is reportedly more advanced and smarter, and will soon be featured in the company's SmartThings platform.
