Good news for thousands of Sony SmartWatch 3 owners. Google's December security update will be made available for download in the next few days. It's the latest update for the Android Wear-powered SmartWatch and probably the last Android firmware update for this year

According to Sony Experia Blog, the latest update, which carries a build number of M1D64T, is said to bring lots of Android security fixes for the month of December. The Android firmware update adds Google's latest security patches for the month of December.

Unfortunately, nothing else is known about this latest update, including the changes it brings, GSM Arena reported. As this time, it still not clear about what specific changes will come with the latest Android update, other than typical Android security patches.

First introduced in 2014, the Sony SmartWatch 3 is an Android Wear-powered wearable device that connects to an Android smartphone and it includes a microUSB cable, the smartwatch itself, and the device manual. The device is capable of displaying SMS, Twitter feeds and more.

The Sony Smartwatch 3 is a fully upgraded version of the previous SmartWatch 2 and it's the only smartwatch in the market that uses Broadcom's SoC platform. It also the only Android Wear-powered smartwatch that offers advanced GPS features, which include support for five satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, QZSS, SBAS, and BeiDou).

The wearable comes with Google's Android Wear software, but unlike other versions of Android Wear in the market, it offers a near-perfect hardware profile, which including daylight readability.

It features a 1.2 GHz Quadcore ARM Cortex A7 processor, an improved GPS which include simultaneously tracking of five satellite systems, ambient light sensor processing SoC, and a highly integrated power management IC.

It's market competition includes LG G Watch R, the G Watch, the Moto 360, Asus ZenWatch, and Samsung Gear Live.
