On the recent news on Apple Inc.'s tablet lineup, the company is planning to overhaul its iPad Mini flagship starting with the 2017 releases. Rumors suggest that the next tablet will be rebranded as the iPad Pro Mini, instead of taking iPad Mini 5 brand. Meanwhile, the company's iPad Pro 2 will be the most anticipated on its iPad generation with its bigger display.

CToday reported that the iPad Mini 5 will be replaced by the newest iteration, iPad Pro Mini. Reports suggest that the tech giant will be overhauling its lineup starting with the 2017 releases, thus, the iPad Mini 5 is rebranded as the iPad Pro Mini.

For its tablet products, Apple will reportedly concentrate on the iPad Pro series, and will rebrand all its succeeding slates accordingly. Because of the revamp, the iPad Pro 2 will be expanded with a new 10.5-inch variant. In addition, it is said that the iPad Pro 2 lineup will add a smaller version, the iPad Pro Mini.

As a smaller variant of the iPad Pro 2, the iPad Mini 5, now called as iPad Pro Mini, is expected to come along with an A9 chipset and at least 3GB of RAM.

According to HNGN, the base version of the iPad Pro Mini will probably include a 32GB of storage, upgrading from the 16GB version of the iPad Mini 4. Now, consumers can choose three different storage options on the Pro Mini in 64GB and 128GB of storage variants.

Under the iPad Pro series, Apple is reportedly launching 3 new iPads next year. Apple's iPad Pro 2 series, wherein 9.7-inch, 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch models will be launched in its March event.

In terms of its specs, the iPad Pro devices will sport a near bezel-less, or at least thinner bezels, than the standard display used in the current generation iPad Pros. In addition, the largest iPad Pro 2 model, 12.9-inch, will feature a True Tone and wide color display with advanced four-channel ambient light sensors. The mid-sized variant is speculated to feature a 10.9-inch bezel-less display like the smallest variant.

Based on rumors, the prices for Apple's new iPad Pro 2 12.9-inch could be pegged at $799 for 32GB, $949 for 128GB and $1099 for the 256GB storage option.
